I need to send you some other eyes and mouth shapes but we can deal with that after youve got some body movement.
This is a short film about courtship based on a series of Victorian book Danielle (Director) got as gifts for christmas. This film is a humorous spin on the original serious tone of the books. The purpose is to teach recent generations how attitudes towards men, women and relationships were and how much they have changed today.

Captain Pugwash and THE FISH MEAL
I really like the cut-out style and how the characters move on the backgrounds. especially the captains hands. Hopefully we can create something similar

More Images to inspire
Hello, Danielle again!!
I love this font
very handcrafted, frilly yet easy to read
idea for whenthe man takes miss Fanny away at the end. Could be nice with him carrying her over his shoulders. he is quite small so it would be quite a struggle and could be comical.
I think we will stick to him dragging her away but this is another idea
satirical charactature- nice pastel colours and exaggerated expression
neck detailsimilar to that of Miss Fannys- this material is more stiff but still same shape
haaa!
I love 'my fair lady' and this is one of the sets for the 'horse racing' scene. I saw the producion at 'Drury Lane' several years back and loved the colours and style
an English streetsign- could be nice to include one or two to get a sense of being in London
Quite naughty image in saw on a boardgame in a shop in soho. I like the shocked expression and saucy bear behind. She is acting very coy and innocent- playful and teasing
I went to the Apollo theatre recently and took this photo of an old poster for the show 'Dont dress for dinner'.
looks very flat but beautiful- taken in baker street
miniture model of victorian shop I saw in the toy museum
Set Design that really interested me. The front and back and interior are all on one strip of paper which would be easy to transfer into aftereffects

Images for animatic
Hello. Its Danielle!
I wanted to include some images to convey what Im thinking of the sets in my head.
The Wallace collection (which is by far my favourite museum )captures that period feel and is a great reference for our etiquette film
These are some photos I took at theWallace collection. Because you cant use a flash they arn't the best quality.
The top photo- I really like the pastel blue. its very soft and works nicely with the gold frame and silver detail in the curtain. love how similar the curtains and wallpaper are but perhaps it wouldnt be so effective in animation.

the second photo is very inspiring to my vision of the opening scene where we move over variouspaintings before reaching the frame with Miss Fanny in. I love the embellished frames and rich wallpaper. I know we are using pastes throughout but maybe the opening scene can have some dark bold colours???
I should test that
The 3rd photo was another idea for the opening scene, similar to the previous but including the chair. it gives more of an idea of a homely setting. I love the painting of the boats at sea- wouldnt it be funny if miss fanny arrived on a boat??? Its probably a bit much (animating the wind blowing her hair and the waves ect) but nice idea.

Character's name is decided
Cobbled floor
This is a cobbled floor test I did on photoshop. I drew the cobbles with my Wacom tablet on a hard edged brush setting. I then used the burn tool to add texture to it and applied it to the background.

Kind Hearts...
Kind Hearts and Coronets: a film recomended to us. Very witty, lovely period costumes and sets
El retrato Oval- Allan Poe
The parts that show the corridor of paintings is like our opening scene. Though it looks like live action in this film (I know its not) ours will look more illustrative.
The Gentleman's Guide to ... Villainy
I was shown this film and really like the 1920s silent movie style. Even though our film isn't this period I love the drama and humor. Similar to our film, this is an instructional film but guided to the male.
